Maintenance/repairs on Blind Bull warming hut

Last weekend a few of our members and friends went into Horse Creek and did some work on the warming hut. The snow finally melted. I am told there are some washouts/slides on some access roads etc. The snowpack did a number on the roads I guess. (I didn't actually go up this year).

Some items taken care of:

a block was inserted in the stove to hopefully avoid the over use of wood
a new pipe was installed
some painting
cut a lot of firewood
replaced the outhouse door
hung a shovel in the outhouse, hoping people will use and save the door
general clean up and restocking

We hope everyone enjoys the shelter next year. We appreciate everyone taking care of the facility. We also appreciate the donations left in the box for continued maintenance. Thank you! (And if you ever have some extra TP and it's running low, please leave some over the winter). :face-icon-small-ton

Here's to another great season and epic snowfall!! :tea:

Thanks for what you do! I know a lot of folks up in this area appreciate the huts and all the clubs do with trail markings and whatnot... Hope to make it down there to see what kinda country you guys got down there!

Thanks from me too. I havn't been up there in about 3 seasons, hope to be there this year ($'s?). Great area and great cabin. When is the club's poker run this winter?

We will be working on our winter projects soon...
We didn't have one last year as we focused on the snocross in Rock Springs. We are going to try and do both I believe this year? I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks!

Got to visit the Blind Bull warming hut last year, great experience. One of the guys could not get over the view out of the outhouse door. Said it was the "most scenic S$!t" he ever took!!! Got pics to prove it, not the, oh, you know. Many thanks to all of those who take care of that place!

That is funny!
Hopefully we have as much snow this year, but people will use the installed large shovels to keep the doorway clear and the door closed. I personally would want to shut the door. That's the main trail coming at you!

We were up there this winter too, for the first time in several hears... I was blown away by the new "warming hut", which is much better built than my house! I took some time to chop the ice and snow out of the outhouse so the door shut properly, but I doubt it lasted long... We also laughted at the cat food in the emergency supply cabinet... Is it for hungry mountain lions, or for when my M8 runs low on fuel?? :)
Thanks for a great place to stop and warm up a little!!
Chris

Thank you and you are welcome.
I have NO idea why the cat food is up there or who put it there... :)

I am told Roy, Clay and Garret worked on the stove this summer. We are crossing our fingers for good snow too. We are trying to work on the muddy spectator area as well.
