Magruder Rd trip in July-need advice

Since it is summer in Colorado I am planning a family trip to Idaho with son and 2 yr. old grand daughter pulling a small Coleman pop-up behind my lifted Jeep Commander (Colorado trail tested). Plan to take 4 days and hit the side trails.

All the literature describes the road as the "roughest road in the U.S" and do not recommend trailers. Any suggestions appreciated,

Talk to Mike for the BEST info...but from what I know you don't want anything longer than a Jeep. Trailers are a NO-NO because even w ith a Jeep, you have to jockey back and forth to turn around to make some corners and tight spots.

Mike does it on his ATVs with his ATV trailer.
