Mag Side Crank Seal

can't be done; it sits in a groove/recess that clamps it in place.

You could potentially split just that end but I'd be worried about an air leak. Splitting the case isn't too bad.

No I'm not worried about splitting the case...I just didn't want to have to yank the motor!! :face-icon-small-hap

I did one on a skidoo 800 when they said it i could be done. Made a home made tool to press it in. seal in freezer. Regreased bearing while it was out. Sealer and made a outer seal reatiner to hold it in on my 03, 04 and above had them stock i believe. put ton of miles on with no problems. I checked for air leaks as well. All was good.

i liked my 2000 polaris 800 because the seal pressed into the housing on the mag side .I wish all engines were made that way because its always the mag side that goes.
