Just thought id throw it out there that although i know some people have had bad experiences, iv seen first hand that Bill from Mtn Fit Hoods has been making tons of changes and turning around his customer service. I just got done putting every piece he makes for a IQ on my dads sled, turned out nice i think and I also put the boards on, they are completely different from anything else out there and seem to work good, just another twist on the whole scheme of things....if you wanna see stuff up close the sled will be at the Spokane Winter Knights Snow Show....Thanks Guys

Looks pretty good. Did you remove every piece of foam under your hood? Even in the exhaust area? Just curious.

yah took all the foam out everywhere....on the exhaust side panel you take the aluminum panel off with teh four screws i bleieve...drill the holes for the side panels (i used 1 1/2ers) and then re install the aluminum piece. some guys scrap them, it only weighs like eight ounces and it keeps the panel stiff and rigid so we keep em. Also note that all the hood vents i cut out completely and then grind the cuts smooth, but the shock tower vents and the side panel vents just use a series of strategicaly placed holes...you will get the same additional flow but still keep some rigidity to the panel when you lay it on your side...

That's just an argument waiting to happen! Everybody on here will tell you differently. IMO, Yes there is. I only install enough venting to help keep my clutches cool and install venting for my air intake. All this "cut out your side panels" and "put 10 vents in your hood" I think is a little excessive. It opens your sleds engine compartment up to risk of more snow ingestion and possible engine/ component damage or failure. If you have 20 vents on your sled, that's 20 possible spots for a stick or tree to poke through and then start taking on snow. Cold Snow on a hot pipe or on clutches will f**k your day of riding. Just my opinion though, there are plenty of people on here that will argue with me and say that the more vents you have the better it is. Kinda like the "chrome junkies". Add some chrome to that motor and your gonna get at least 10 HP.

IMO no! The hot air elimination is adequate venting to keep your clutches cool and also flow a little cold air across the pipe can side of your engine compartment. If you have the high flow air intake then you are pretty much cramming as much air to your motor as needed. The only other thing that may be suggested is for some powder valves in the event your intakes get clogged with snow. On the intake system, the more venting the better to a point. Your engine with only use what air it needs in order to run correctly but when you start pinching off air intakes with snow your engine starves for air and the air fuel mixture becomes rich and washes your pistons/ cylinders.

where do i find the hood vents?

Mtn. Fit is def the place to get them.... www.mountainfithoods.net if you call call him after 12:00 pasific time becasue he has other obligations before noon.

also, as for too much venting i guess it is a never ending argument...all the vents on clutch side have prefilter on them so no snow or water gets through but yah i suppose that there is the chance that you could poke somthing through them but once a gain another plus of mtn fit...call him and he will send you out a whole new free kit to replace broken pieces. not just replacement material...
