M8 vs. M1000 in 2008 - looking for two sleds

I am looking to buy two new or slightly used 2008 sleds. the preference is two M8's with 153" tracks but we are considering getting one M8 and one M1000. I rode both last year and the M1000 did not seem to have significantly more juice when compared with the M8. however, i did not ride them the same day.

any advice on the M8 vs. the M1000? also, do you know where we can get some screaming deals?
