i currently have a m8 with a boondocker pump gas turbo kit on it and i am upgrading it to a race gas kit this year, boondocker sent me the waterline kit for the turbo, but it has no instructions and i dont really undrstand how to hook it up, any suggestions? or any install pics would be great

Thanks

Forgive my ignorance here..

I assume the water line is to cool the turbo. Why don't they all run one all the time?

yes its to cool the turbo, the 09 pump gas kits didnt come with them for some reason but the new 2010 kits do, boondocker sent me the water lines for free

I haven't had a boondocker but I installed a ovs race kit they used the cooling lines. As stated below they hook up to the coolant lines that run to your t-boddies. Some guys will leave the line connected to the t -bodies and just t into them, others will eliminate the coolant lines to the t-bodies and unhook them from the barbs on the t-bodies and just run them over to the inlet and outlet of the turbo. The later is the route I chose, you don"t need to run coolant through your t-bodies beacause you have warm charge air going through them so freezing isnt't a issue. Either way works fine personal preferance i quess. If you take off your belly pan you can see the two lines running to each side of the t-bodies they hook on to 2 barbs that are on each side. They are easy to find once you get in there. You can just run them through the hole in the bulkhead behind your recoil and to the turbo. doesn't hurt to cover them with heat foil or rap of some kind, as you probably know there is alot of heat in that area. Good luck :beer;:beer;

yeah i do have ports on the turbo but i am just not sure where to hook it into the motor

The lines that go into the throttle bodies disconnect those and run them thru the turbo.

Your throttle bodies only needs coolant to run thru them because NA motors suck cool air and your turbo will be pushing hot air.

The only reason for the coolant line in the throttle bodies is to keep them warm.

I would highly recommend using split conduit to keep a hole from rubbing.

I only like to work on chit when I feel like working on it.

Good luck

I bypassed the "carb warmer" option all together....it makes remove/installing stuff a ton easier

so now the to/from cooler lines are both under the engine and not running through the throttle bodies

This is the best way IMO also.

i think i got it figured out now, im going to by pass the throttle bodies because they are a pain to deal with anyways, thanks for the help guys
