Hello everyone, new member here, first want to say thanks to everyone for all the usefull information on the site. I found a lot of answers to the many questions I had after I decided to switch sleds. Having said that, now that I've made the decision and switched over to the M8, I now have more questions as I'm pretty much a rookie mountain rider.
What air pressure are you guys using in the fox float in the rear skid on M8 sleds? I recently picked up a 2010 m8 SP 153 and I am extremely impressed with the sled, my only complaint is I find the rear suspension brutal on the moguls found on the ungroomed switchbacks I have to ride to get to the powder up top, not to mention the ride back down after riding all day. I'm 230lbs plus gear, and just looking for a more comfortable ride on rough trails, not into big jumps, dropping cornices, or anything else that will really ask a lot of the suspension. The little riding I have done was with the fox float air shock pressure @ 155-160psi, which I believe is near or at the upper limit. I know I have go with less pressure but was just wondering about a starting point from where I can fine tune it for myself. Without enough snow around here to ride, I'd like to keep the fine tuning to a minimum when I get to the mountains, which is why I'm only seeking a starting point.
I thought I seen a thread about this a while back, but have been unable to find it. Any advice or help would be appreciated, cheers.
