M8 High compression head

I did search first, so if this has already been covered please don't be too harsh.

I'm thinking that with the elevation I run my sled at I could probably use a little more compression than the stock will allow. I would like to avoid running race gas and I run at 9500ft.+

Any suggestions ?

Shave the stocker, it works great through the midrange, not much different on the top.
I see 150 psi at 5k elev, and 125 psi out of my rkt 14.5-1 head. I ride 7-10k. No race fuel needed.

definitely RKT

I did a RKT head on my m7 w/ his clutch kit and was even w/ my buddies BMP bb800. His stuff works!

Just sold the sled and RKT head will be the 1st thing on my next sled.

Plus his interchangable domes r handy.

Good to know. Do you know your compression at your altitude? I wan to shave my stocker but not sure if I will have enough squish band clearance when I am done. Need to look further into it. I like to look as stock as possible:face-icon-small-coo

Stock shmock. The head is so tucked away on the M's, no one even notice the head when they looked at mine. I had to point it out to one of my buddies.
I can't remember precisely but, I bought the head and domes, unused from someone on here, and they were 12-1(it was for 7000ft up) and Kelsey said they had tested them side by side with the next lower compression and they noticed no diff on the hill at 9000ft so I traded Kelsey back my unused domes for a set of 13-1 domes just to be on the safe side, b/c ccasionally I run at 6500ft.

That head made that sled pull like it did at home in MN, at 1500ft! It was a monster.

My recommendation, and I am a nobody from Nowheresville, is this:
1. Call Kelsey
2. Do absolutley whatever he says
3. Go ride your sled like u stole it.

JMHO

Ahem...pssst (If you are interested, I have the RKT torsional conversion kit from my 06 M7 for sale if u r interested(or anyone else....oops)
PM me

Let me know if u have any other ?'s

If I was going to get a head, the only one I'd get one from is Kelsey.

As for shaving a head, after running a few shaved head on M's compared to his, they're a joke. Kelsey will get you EXACTLY what you need so you're not having problems with det & you get the most out of the sled.

btw, if you're running a stock head at 9k+, you just haven't seen what you're missing!! (on the <09 sleds)

Good head

I recently put a 2010 head on my '09 M8. It made a real nice difference. Mostly low end and midrange. i'm not sure about any #'s, but it pulls awesome.
