To the guys that have geared there m8's down. how far down did you go and how do you like the change?? I geared my m1000 down to 55/65 and really like the feel and my buddy wants to know about 09 m8 gear change.

thanks

Myself and a buddy both went 54/66's. So far, seems just right. The belt seems to like it alot more, nice snap in the tree's, doesnt appear that it hurt my track speed all that much, etc. Giver!

Had to grind the fork shaft for the 53/67s - The 54/66s probably need it as well. Assemble on the bench without the cover on and check the clearance between the new larger diameter transfer gear and the shaft.

55/65 here would go down at least 2 more steps.. Still tops at over 70 on the trails 09/M8 Would give someone a great deal on some 55/65 gears run 200 Miles.

my buddy and i do alot of boondocking not as much hillclimbing. will let him know about the 55/65 gears:face-icon-small-hap

I installed the 54/66 gears. Wow the sled is a rocket till 75 mph. I love it for on and off riding. I prefer my 57/63 gears for long climbs though. I havnt been able o try deep soft powder yet with the low low gears. I think that is where they would shine. Especially if you cant get a run at the hill.
I flipped engine on its side , pulled cover off and switched the gears out in 10 min.
