M8 fuel gauge?

Noticed today while cleaning up the sled that my fuel gauge was way off, so I filled the sled and shook the &&%$ out of it and not the sled gauge reads empty with a full tank of fuel? Anyone had this problem? Sleds on warrently to I'll pribly just have to take it in and get it replaced. Oh sled is an 09 m8 sno pro LE

they come apart and fall in the tank, i've got a new one to put in, hope it lasts the whole season:) ac said they were having problems with the glue they used and ethanol, were supposed to change the adhesive...

ditch the ethanol. i work on sleds quite often. one thing i have learned is that the two stroke sleds don't like ethanol. i have nothing against farmers and i support them whenever i can, but not by purchasing ethanol. i would say 8 out of 10 carbed sleds that we service that come back later the same season for another service run ethanol.

granted, this isn't a carbed sled, but i still believe this is true.

Had the same thing happen to my 08 M1000, called the cat dealer and they got me a new one under warranty. All they had me do was bring them the old one and trade it for a new gauge. To replace gauge just reach into tank and force whole assembly straight up and out.

Mine stopped working a month after buying the sled. Why bother, just look down the hole.

Ya Doesnt bug me but if its on warrenty why not? Will it hurn anything to run it as is? I'd like to run some fuel out before I dig into it but dont want the float to cause issues

hey bud, mine did this a few times, seems sometimes the float on the gauge would get stuck and all I did was reach in the tank and free it up by hand. not tough just a pain putting your arm or hand in the gas. try it.
