m8 big bore

reliable hp is hard to come by. the M7 BB 800's are great, an easy 165hp ( mild porting , pipe ,Y pipe,a BoonDocker , 2*key) so a reliable 900 at 175 makes sence to me. if your after more hp then you start pushing , ign and port timing up along with comp, and reliability comes second.
If you are going for a package BB from a company dont talk big when ordering it and parting with your cash. tell them what you want. ie: a reliable package. 175 hp 900 I think would be a easy one to clutch and jet. If your after a 195 HP 900 ,,, well even if your a GOOD tuner your going to have some time invested in tuning -clutching and will ALWAYS have a eye on it.
Buy whats going to work for you because when it goes down your :( sad
Unreal expectations are the most commonly purchased perf products.

Ii there many guys running an M8 To M9 Big bores? Dont seem to see much posted on them? My 07 is going to need to be rebuild this summer and was thinking of a Big Bore kit. Anybody have a good runner they can recomend?

I have been down the BB route a few times myself. Not necesarily in the cat but other brands. The thing that gets to me is once you get up in elevation all that NA BB power is seemingly lost. Now with all this cool fuel injected 2 stroke technology, the turbo's are just as reliable, if not more than alot of the Big Bores. I think in a few years the big bores arent going to be around much in the alpine just because of the turbo advantages. There are going to be guys that say their BB's are the way to go, until they ride a good running turbo. My opinion, dont waste your cash on the big bore mod...Invest it in a turbo and never look back. Unless you are not fuel injected, then BB is really your only option. 2 stroke turbos are the way of the future for the mountains!
