m8/1000 recoil conversion

I was going to rebuild my recoil,(2003-900 m1) what is involved to convert it to the newer m8 recoil.

Either buy or build an adapter from plate aluminum that fits both recoil bolt patterns, bolt that to the case, space the starter cup out the same width as the thickness of your adapter, and bolt up the new recoil.

Ted at Terra Alps racing sells a kit, as do my father and I.

Idcatman3 makes a quality piece, fit was excellent. Swapping to the M1000 recoil sure made it easier to roll the 1000 over.

Exactly what I was going to say. Idcatman3 was great to deal with and the adapter fit perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend converting to the new recoil, it's a night and day difference.

What year of recoil from a M8 or M1000 will fit? Or are the recoils the same on all year M8/M1000?

They will all fit, as far as I know they are all the same.
