My VIN fell in this range & was replaced under the recall.
Taken from a posty by SaberKitty 12-20-07:
There's a fix (new replacement ECU) in the works for the code 21 issue on 800 engines covering VINs 4UF08SNW98T111005 through 4UF08SNW98T116379.
Ill tell ya what I have seen. On M8 pump gas turbos, you need to run some race gas above 6lbs of boost. The kicker is that most pump gas setups turned all the way down are about 7lbs. I have a 2010 M8 BDPG on my bench right now that smoked the PTO side. The guy bought it under the guise that it was pull the rope and go, no tinkering needed. His EGT recall was at 1408 degrees! He needs to set his control box up right, and run 50/50 race gas above 7lbs. Now, if you are spending most of your time above 9000 feet, and you probably aren't unless your address has a CO in it.......you need some race gas unless you are sticking below 7lbs.
Another thing I have seen is running a bigger turbo on the 800 will allow you to run higher boost on pump gas....9 lbs for instance.
If you are 9000 feet and below 4-6lbs is pump gas territory with a standard 2860 setup.
