M7 wont run

Just went to start my sled today and here is the deal.

When i go to start the sled it fires for like a second and then shuts down, if i get on the gas it will run but not all that great and only at higher RPM's.
I had the hood off and wasnt thinking and tried starting it a couple times without the gauge cluster and headlight plug thingy plugged in, could that have possibly done something to the ECU?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks guys:beer;

Usually if the ecu fries it's done. I have been amazed at what old fuel can do. Barely run or run poorly or not at all. It's that time of year when there could be old fuel in a sled, it's worth replacing. Hope it's that easy but I have worked a lot on some sleds just to find out it's bad fuel.

ECU Damage

I wouldn't think so - It shouldn't run at all with the ECU unplugged. She might fire up than quit once all the gas is out of the fuel pump. One could assume that didn't add any mods? I'd check & clean the Power valves, reset the injectors (unplug, start, than replug in) and make sure everything is plugged in correctly. Change the gas and talk to her real nice like!:p

Sounds fuel related to me. At higher RPMs it's really "forcing" the gas thru. Bad fuel or fuel pump maybe. Fuel filter may need a swap.

I would check to make sure that you're butterflies are not partially open due to the throttle cable being out of normal routing or too tight. I have seen when the butterflies are open even a little and the ECU senses it will start momentarily, or pop or do nothing at all. Might not be the problem but it is an easy check.
