M7 vs M8 questions?

Hi,

Please bare with me as I know next to nothing about Arctic Cats. I have been looking at M6s for my girlfriend and want to expand the search to include M7s. I have already included M8s in the search as well.

So besides no reverse and a smaller engine size, what is the differences between the M7 and M8? I am finding some m7s for a reasonable price vs the m8s and am trying to decide if its worth the extra 1000 bucks to upgrade 1 year, 100 cc's and reverse.

thanks

M8 has bigger clutches, better rear suspension, the 07's actually the best M suspension they've made so far. maybe not the lightest but the best ride. better bars/controls and i'm sure a few other things that i can't think of right now. i'd think the reverse alone would be worth the extra grand. not putting down the M7, its one awesome sled, but i'd rather have the M8 thats why i do:)

stock for stock they are close to the same hp but the torque on the M8 is much better for bigger guys. The mod potential is also much better on the M8. Port an M8 with a good single pipe and you have close to 170 hp. Rode an M7 for years and than bought an 09 M8. I did the slp performance package and love my 09 M8.

I think you guys are right, it is probably worth the extra grand to buy an m8.

I have found one with 860 miles on it which i think i can get for an equivilant for 5700 US if i factor in GST, RIV fee, exhange rate/fees and diesel. Doesnt seem to be too bad compare to the ones i see listed on here:

2007 Arctic Cat M8
The sled is complety stock with only 846 miles. The track is the challenger 153 inch, with no missing lugs or damage. The sled is in excellent condition and needs nothing. The machine comes stock with reverse and hand/thumb warmers. A travel tarp is included however the sled has always been hauled or stored in an enclosed trailer or a heated shop.
