so i am just doing new pistons and rings. and my sled has 3500 miles on it is there any other things that i should be looking at for replacement or just to check over while i have it all torn apart. thank for any info i am just board and waiting on parts.
 
the cylinders look great and i probaly will have them honed out. i never thought about looking at the motor mounts thanks for that.

Make sure you take them to a shop that knows what they are doing i think you have to have a diamond hone for a nikalsil cylinder,and i just got a new engine mount for my pto side it was torn.
 
I did not know you could hone a nikasil cyl. Was I wrong?
Yes you can and many O dealers do it often and the manufactures have specs on how to do it. how do you thing the cross hatch gets in the NEW cyl when you get them? just check for scratches, flaking and pitting.
 
Personally, I always split the case and replace the crank seals when I do a top end. Lost one motor to a bad seal before and it's not gonna happen again. Gives you a chance to visually inspect your crank and bearings too.

yea i actally thought about splitting the case just to inspect the bottem end so i dont know if i will. but i know if i dont i will be kicking myself later on.
