M7 Stock intake w/ aftermarket hood.

Anyone figure out a good way to run your stock airbox with and aftermarket hood. Basicaly, how to get fresh air into the box without all the stock plumbing up to the hood intake vents. I'm installing RKT bb and Kelsey and others feel that you loose power with aftermarket intake. I'd like to go back to the stock box but don't want to go out and buy the stock hood and stuff. Apparently drilling the air box to take in air around the nose cone area also nulifies the benefits of the stock box. Thoughts anyone?

Honestly, I've had nothing but good results running the stock hood with the stock intake parts. I find they work the best in deep powder and stuff. I've never run a bigbore motor though-maybe they need more airflow that the stock setup can't provide.

If you want to run the stock intake box, but don't want all of the underhood plumbing, take a look at how the firecats are set up. They draw air straight down from under a little cowling on the nose of the hood. I think they tend to get plugged with snow though-the reason they changed the setup for the M sleds in the first place.

You could put some prefilter around the opening to the airbox where the accordion tube use to clamp on and vent the hek out of the hood to keep cool air flowing in and hot air flowing out. That would be cheap and easy. Not as cold as an external intake but would plug with powder.
