m7 pistons ring gap towards exhaust?

your piston top should have a mark that goes toward exhaust and then you cant go wrong with ring gap because of pins...but your gaps should be towards the back of sled if im not mistaken

NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Ring gaps always go on the opposite side of the exhaust. Typically on the intake side, but on the laydown motor intake and exhaust are on the same side.

not for sure on the M7 but every 2 stroke piston i've ever put rings on has a pin where the ring gap goes...

One way to remember is that the ring gap should line up with a bridge in one of the ports (like on an old ZR580 motor) or make sure the ring gap doesn't end up in a port as the end of the ring will pop out of the piston groove and destroy your cylinder.
