M456 Thermostat?

What's the intended application for those, maybe that's how they are supposed to work?? They look like a slick idea but not cool if they work backwards.

Supposedly used as a thermostat to control the temperature on an LPG converter. I have no idea why a backwards t-stat would ever be required but the product description is below. I was hoping some of the guys using them would chime in.

"Part number M456 from Alternative Fuel Systems is a thermostat used to control the temperature of an LPG converter. This thermostat is a low cost way to prevent expensive service calls due to premature converter failure. The vaporization in the converter is accomplished by routing heated engine coolant through the converter. This can cause the converter to reach temperatures in excess of 180°. The optimum temperature for vaporizing LPG is 130°. Above this temperature the propane can separate in the converter leaving heavy destructive substances on critical components. The M456 maintains a 130° temperature to prevent this. This prolongs the life of any converter. Part number M456 with barbed inlet and outlet ports is to be used inline in a 5/8" I.D. coolant hose. The inlet of the the thermostat should be installed a close as possible to the coolant outlet on the converter."

Just for the sake of others that are tempted by the $20 price tag; I talked with the supplier and he confirmed it is in fact designed to restrict flow after the temperatures reach around 130F. Prior to that it is open flow.

Not sure how people are running these but my guess is their bikes aren't getting to 130F.
