M1100T Split its coolant tank

Only leaks significantly under high pressure, which only gets high enough after the sled sits for a minute and the heat in the turbo think boils some coolant.

The sled only revs to about 6800 to 7100 under heavy load while climbing, so either it has a boost leak or the motor overheated. It still feels like it builds boost, but slower than usual I think.

Too bad this didn't happen last year because now I have to pay $50.

Anyone know how far off my RPMs are for a stock sled with stock clutching?

I never did see the coolant temp light btw.

I added coolant once today after my aftermarket temp gauge showed it climbing. And I added coolant tonight for tomorrow.

I plan to try riding it for another day or two if possible to avoid renting. Anyone think that is a good or bad idea? Kinda painful not being able to shut the sled off with the turbo hot, but adding coolant once or twice doesn't seem that bad.

Cat dont care, at it again, Bad enough to HAVE to pull the hood just to check fluid level. But what lamebrained jackass designed a tank that has NO sight gauge to start with.

Ticking time bomb for sure, everytime I shut my sled off I can hear it boilin somethin fierce in there. Somebody on here welds them out in the wild. He carries a plastic stick and seals them back up. As for the low rpm have no ideas.

It started leaking more than yesterday right away. Not sure it all is from the tank either. Pretty sure the motor is trashed now.

Rented a 600 RMK for the day. In about 3 hours I put 10.5 gallons through it in 45 miles (epic snow conditions in the Big Horns btw). Unlike an Arctic Cat the Polaris managed to run at 7800 RPM for minutes at a time without blowing a belt or bursting its coolant tank.

Polaris is winning. Their motors may only last 2000 miles, but you can do that 2000 miles at WOT. The Arctic Cat simply can't handle heavy use.

I was impressed how easy it is to flick that non-Pro RMK 600.

Let's see a 600 with about 90HP impressed you vs a T1100 with over 200hp?.... mmmmm I know what you mean sometimes the fun factor is best on a stocker...... but I have to have the torque even if I have to turn a wrench....:face-icon-small-hap

I could do powder turns on the 600 endlessly. I think I did 5 360s before I worn out enough to pull out of the turn. I'm pretty sure if I tried that on my M1100T the track would wash out eventually. I sidehilled that thing for about 1000 feet a couple times too. Not sure I've sidehilled mine for more than a 100 or so (it always picks up speed or if you slow down it would point itself down).

I miss the power, and it really couldn't climb much, but it was a blast to say the least. Looking forward to trying to do the same stuff on my sled that I could on that 600. I'm sure coolant tanks are on backorder though, so I might not get to use it on the next trip, 3 weeks away.

Sucks when they are broken...

I heard the coolant gurgling in my tank on my first ride - the radiant heat from the exhaust sure doesn't help. I insulated the coolant tank with the reflective insulation (the kind they use on MX bike between the side number plates & exhaust), and used header wrap with the silicone coating on every inch of my exhaust system - now I don't have to fill my coolant tank every time I ride (it would push from the overflow, but never ran low). My sled also has Cat's vented side panels. May be worth looking into once your tank has been replaced.
Sorry to hear you are having issues - mine still has the outstanding reverse recall, but I've had no issues, and not driving to have it fixed during the season if it isn't broken. Hands down the best sled I've owned to date, and definitely high in the fun department.

Good luck
