m1000 vs 05 rmk 900 166

i have a 2008 m1000 162 waiting for me and my friend is saying his rmk will walk all over me i need to ask the pros (you guys) is this true or is he full of it.

um..don't come here for that kind of advice..

m1000 riders answer: no
rmk 900 riders answer: yes

i'd just go out in the hills once the snow starts falling and see for yourself.

Truth doesn't come into play when talking ****. Just tell him his sled is the worst sled ever made (that's not a yamaha) until it snows...then if he beats you start working on excuses (sun was in my eyes, air in the bushes, etc)

If he is a good rider, And it is your first time out on the M1 then it may be close? But with a little time on the machine you should get him to eat his words? He must have wanted you to buy a Polaris?

Mike

Both are front end heavy and both have good power. Let us know how it comes out. If the 900 rider is 80lbs less than you my money's on him.

I used to think my rmk 900 was pretty fast too, until i sold it to my buddy and spanked his *** with my m8. I am about 50 lbs lighter but it don't matter there is no comparison between a rmk 900 and a m1000 anyway you look at it, some guys can ride those sleds pretty good but you put them on a m series and they will want one, its a way better sled.

Tell your buddy to pack a tow rope/strap and on the way out after his motor/crank is shot he will be looking at Arctic Cat butt flap the whole way out.lol
The M1000 out of the box is incredible, and the 09 m8, I have 1 poo, and 1 doo, and 5 Arctic cats, so far 1 broken crank{poo} and lots of fun hours on the Cats

Are you bored and looking for entertainment. Not even a comparison, I've seen 800 edge's go farther than 900. biggest pile ever built. It would be a wast of gas even to line the two up.

post it on the poo thread and I'll bet you get more for the m1000.

I need to be more specific. even on the poo thread people will tell you the m1000 will beat the 900.

I have owned a 05 900 159 2.4 and rode with a 08 m1000 162. In very limited conditions the 900 may have an advantage "crusted snow with 4" powder on top".

It's all the rider.

I now own a m1000 153", their's times I miss the 900, but you could not give me that sled back.

I stomped many, theres no comparison, If you think they might have an advantage on hard snow go ride one with a PC on it.

i dont think you can compare the two. the d8 would have a better chance, but that is still not a very good one.

900 rmk is an excellent buy, if your looking for price per pound:) i think yami helped them add weight, i'm sure they designed that HUGE rear bumper...

If both sleds are stock and working properly the M1000 will come out on top in most conditions with equal riders. If they are both modded then you'll just have to wait for the snow to fly to find out.

They arent even worth comparing unless ya bust the crank right off on the M1000..........
And if yer friend actually thinks that, hes a novice rider pullin yer leg.....

Think it all depends on what mods and what kind of riders you have. My friend's non-stock 900 does pretty well in the hills, he can just keep going and going. The 900 have issues but if you put the money into them they can really run.

Pictures of the outcome please? :D

put the same amount of money into the m1000 and still no comparison, I ran against a modded 900 with my stock 09 m1000 and it was a joke, like I said waste of gas. A m8 even beat it.
