Hello everyone-

First, I am thinking of putting a boondocker pump gas turbo on my 09 m1000 sple. Last year I put the stage II d&d ported cylinders and heads, y pipe, pipe and barker can. From what I understand I will have to go back to stock head and cylinders.(extra $1,000 bucks or so, bummer:() Does everyone agree with this scenario?

Secondly, what kind of issues should I be aware of. I am not a great mechanic and want to know what I need to watch for and any little tips you guys could give me. I know how to run a boondocker box but that is about it.

Lastly I am confused. Does the stock oil tank go away and you have to premix gas and oil. Not a big deal to do but curious if thats how it works.

Any tips, ideas, insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance for any help.

Thanks, Chip

porting is different for the turbo so trade the jugs with a friend along with the head if you increased the compression. shouldnt cost you, your just giving up what you already invested. Oil tank stays on most systems not sure on boondocker.

If you look around you will find ALOT of Boondocker customers that are very unhappy with the way they have been treated. People paying 5000.00 in September and still not having anything to show for there money.

Years ago when i was ready to buy my first turbo kit i was warned about Boondockers, by one of there customers . And i am so happy i never gave money to people who disrespect there patrons.

I would go with Twisted , CPC , OVS , or Push. Anyone but Poonboggers.

Yes you should trade out for a stock head and cylinders and as for boondockers I was one that ordered a turbo from them and after getting the run around for two months I went with CPC dont have it on the snow yet but plan to tomorrow, waiting on a miss shipped part. Great customer serivce when you call and ask for Dale you get to talk to Dale.

Thanks for the heads up. I am leaning towards boondocker because there is a reputable dealer close by who installs tons of these kits and has for years. I am not going to install myself and a three hour drive is a lot better than an 8-9 hour drive to go to ovs or twisted. Thats my thought process.

x2. I am so glad I decided not to buy a BD kit. All the kits he listed have great reviews.

For those that don't know how twisted started.
When it all started he was buying kits from BD or what ever kit and then making them better. eliminating some thing and replacing others with better stuff. So you can buy the bd kit or buy the more or less uprgraded bd kit from twisted. Any dealer that can install a bd kit can install a twisted as for any customer as well. To me the bd kit will get it done and the twisted kit will get it done right. Not saying bd isn't great but with the rep they have been getting and the fact that everyone is passing them by with fuel control boxes (we will see how the new ones are) I would rather go with a different one.

You gotta be joking right? Twisted's kit and Boondockers kit are totally different. They use different fuel systems completely. How is the Dobeck controller passing anyone by? There's nothing wrong with it but it's hardly "state of the art". Twisted deletes the oil pump, Boondocker doesn't, the turbo oil system, fuel system, charge tube, airbox and even the turbo(at least on the M8) is different. Twisted uses a BOV on everything, Boondocker doesn't. Not really the same at all. The EBC is a new this year for Boondocker and has the ability to boost the stock fuel pump for a race gas/4 injector setup, no need to replace the fuel pump for higher boost now. Boondockers ADA fuel controller, with simple tuner programing is anything but inferior to the other fuel controllers.

Thats why I said when he started doing it, Both have came a long ways from 2-3 years ago. I have seen many bd m8's that have ran well. but this year on the m1000 its all new with most everything. The boonedocker box has its ability but has been limited in tuning points(don't know about he new ebc). I'm not bashing them just not impressed lately with the waiting list and some of there past products, twisted has had pg kits working for a while now, bd is still fresh. I think they will work fine but there will be some issues and like said, a wait.

Thanks for all of the input guys. Talked to Shain for a while today to go through his turbo set up. He was very friendly and a great source of info. I am going to try to get a hold of OVS and here what they have to say and try to make a decision.

How is the reliability with all of the turbos. I am not the tye of guy who feels comfortable tearing an engine apart. What kind of issues are you seeing. Any moe info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Chip

Check with CPC I ordered a boondocker kit early in the year and after getting the run around decided to go this a different kit. I called an talked with Dale at CPC Racing. I just finished mt kit yesterday. Best part about CPC was every time I called I got to talk with Dale if not right away he called back within 30 minutes, every time a had an issue he help me resolve it. We even found a couple places in his instructions that if changes would really help the every day guy with the install and he changed it. Cutlers Performance Center 1-801-224-5005 or CPCracing.com

chip, have had my OVS system on 2 sleds for well over 2000 miles with no rebuilds. The new Tial setup is even easier to manage then all the other standard kits. I havent adjusted my settings since I put it on. Travis's number is 801-940-7777

Thanks everyone for the great info. I have talked to all of the major players and trying to decide what to do. It is a whole lot of dollars to do it but I guess you cant take it with you. If anyone else wants to chime in feel free.

Thanks, Chip
