m1000 turbo(pump gas) clutching setups?

I asked this question over a year ago but didnt get much reply. Was told to run stock springs, 36/44 helix and 85 gram weights.
With more pump gas kits out on the snow now i was hoping for more of a reply. Im running between 4000-6000 feet at 5-6 pounds of boost.
 
Not sure on springs, I think some are using a little stiffer primary to reduce lag (might just be on the m8) and the D&D adjustable magnetic clutch weights. other than that its the same as what I saw.
 
the reason i asked was because of all the talk about the orange secondary spring. It was difficult sqeezing that spring into the adjutable helix. The spring seems long and was hoping for more and better options.
 
I haven't heard of anything different on any pg m1000's, I know RKT said to compress the orange spring you had to have boost, and you do. You might want to give them a call (or maybe he will speak up) and see what they think. Might not be a bad idea to call Cutler, OVS, Twisted. Sounds like MMotorsports knows quite a bit about turbos. But there are not to many pg m1000's it seems like.

What kind of track speed are you seeing out of yours and what elevation. Did you add the extra m/mounts

We have found that the Orange spring works good in the secondary and no need to buy new spring. How did it run last year?
Did you like the bottom end?
I prefer a straight helix but have used both.

Actually yesterday was my first ride out on it. With the lack of snow and with boondocker taking so long to ship the kit i decided to get a new 09 m1000 instead of the turbo kit last year. I installed a OVS aerocharger kit on it this year. First ride yesterday had cutler weights set at 84.15g and a 36/42 helix with ovs setup and spring that i borrowed from my brothers m7 turbo. Was reving at 7600 and never had a chance to check track speeds. Mainly the reason i asked this question is cause i have a helix i bought last year for the turbo, a 36/44 but doesnt have the reverse notches in it so im gonna need to buy a new helix now and wanted to see what other people were running before i ordered one. Your running a straight helix with the turbo? Which one? Is it better to use the fixed cams or the adjutable ones? One more thing should the rpms be the same as stock around 7200. Thanks for the help.
 
RPM's

Rpms will be higher but under 7800
I like a 44 straight and would not go with a torsion mainly because they open when you go in revers.
 
From what I remember the bd box for the pg kit only goes to 7500rpm, I was told you want to stay under that and the stock pipe also build the best hp at 7200-7400.

How does the 44* do off bottom(is it also on a pg m1000), seemed like everyone was using the 36/44, What about a 36/44r.

Dont they make torsional setups that work with reverse now?
 
Here is what works for me, I have a rg twisted but run it mostly around 6-7 lbs

Primary:
Maroon spring from bdx, 93 gram bdx weights, had cutlers adjustable and blew belts everyday, they would not hold steady rpms which heated the belts to explosion, not saying the weights are bad, just my experience

secondary:
orange spring, 34-46 helix with the bdx adjustable spring tensioner.

I run between 7500-7700 rpms depending on the boost and I never have to change weights.

Have you talked with the guys at ovs, they should be able to give you a pretty good setup out of the box.
 
Call Travis and Garr at OVS. I am running their torsional conversion [OVS] and D&D big dawg weights. Like said above, you need to stay in the 7200-7400 rpm range with a stock pipe. Load the weights more to achieve this if you are over revving. The OVS aero setup has been ABSOLOUTELY flawless out of the box. Cluching also.
