I'm going to mount a turbo on an M1000.
But I can not decide which manufacturer to choose!
I am running from sea level up to 4500 ft.
Focusing on using 100LL aviation fuel.
Anybody have recommendations on who I should choose?

I don't know for sure, but if you want to run straight AV gas, that low of elevation, you will have to run your boost really low? Say 4-5#, and I don't even know that a pump gas turbo can be run that low? Sure someone with expert knowledge will chime in.

I run a OVS at 12# and it is RANK! I love it.

Twisted is just as good, I would go with either of those setups if I were buying another. There are others out there, but these are the only 2 kits I have experience with.

Good luck, once you go turbo, you'll never go back.

I really like the OVS kit with the TIAL. It spools rapidly and is good in trees. (It would be really good with a better pilot!)

i would go twisted.... the twisted turbo is an awesome and reliable.... let alone shain has the best customer service around.....

I think it ends up with a kit from BD or Twisted.
I have some sort of desire to try out BD's turbokit.
really like all the electronics that come with the kit.
Or is it just silly to get caught up in it?
after what I've seen pictures of Twisted kit so it seems that the oil tank should be removed? just was not prepared to mix oil in the fuel tank!?

Will also change the DD to a BDX DDlite, what gearing do you recommend?

OVS and Push have the Tial wastegates which is another level of throttle response and power at lower boost levels. Push is a stainless system thru ought so it will not rust if your in a humid environment. I'm going to do an OVS with a tunnel dump exhaust.

if you like the electronics that BD has with their kits... do a couple searches on here & see how many people you see *****ing about exactly those cool little gadgets that seem like a good idea. I'm a bit of an electronics geek myself, but with the reliability that I see from BD, I just can't do it. I'm also looking at a turbo for my 1000 & would only go bd if I could get away from the gadgets that work 80% of the time.

Premixing is pretty easy & at least then you know what you're getting for fuel/oil mix.

I have rode all the tial set ups and I would put my garrett internal aginst any tial setup for throttle responce or top end power.

I ended up finally in a Twisted PG / RG Extreme kit from Shain.
This is my first turbo, so I'm a little excited! I hope I end up with a good running sled

Looking out to begin with an exciting summer project now.
Shain has sent the turbo kit and am waiting for a van amburg Boondock tunnel plus a some other parts from BDX:)

Nicely done. I'm sure all you're going to need now is a bigger face to fit that big sh** eatin' grin on! :)

I'm green (Arctic Cat green, of course) with envy.

Keep us informed of your build.
