:face-icon-small-hapHere's a bracket I made for my '08 M1000 SP that tilts the speedo for better viewing and opens the speedo hole for ventilation. Made a few so if you are interested PM. All stainless hardware. Oh yeah, almost forgot. It weights .43 pounds (7 ounces) with the hardware and only $29. PM or email info@peakdesignworks.com . This bracket fits the SnoPro gage and the standard gage '08 and newer.

Neil, just sent you money via PayPal for 2 sets. One for the stock hood and one for the Poly lightweight hood. Thanks!

Itsa,
Have you got an answer yet on fitting a standard model gauge? Might be interested if you have something that'll fit.

The brackets will fit all gages from 2008 and up, standard and SnoPro and I will have black brackets next week. They will be either anodized or powder coated depending on which looks best. Thanks for all the PMs.

What happens when I roll my sled? It looks like the bracket is burly enough that it would either crack my hood or let my guage get smashed? Do you supply any mesh to cover the big hole left? It seems like some snow would get in there on any deep days.

Black would look good. Wouldn't even notice it. What about some powder screen behind it?
The screen could be made with ordinary nylon window screen painted black and hot glued or siliconed to the inside. The idea here is to get the same benefits as the high $$ gage mounts and save $100+. So be creative. What are your ideas?

The bracket can be mounted anywhere vertically that you like. There is no fixed location. Looking at my sled the gage is below a line between the handle bars and the cowl. Nothing is going to protect the gage if a tree gets in there. And the screen is not supplied, yet. We are working on that.

I got my two in the mail today. I am having them anodized black with some other stuff I have going in. Super fast shipping. If you are worried about them being vulnerable when rolled, STOP! You are worrying for nothing. Your handlebars stick up way higher than these do. Thanks Itsadrug!

Looks great!

I am a big fan of due it yourself startups!
You could get good screen from Homedepot for dirt cheap that is nylon like (not metal).
I would notch the hood at the top or bottom slightly, just enough for the wires!

Then glue the screen to the back side.

When I looked at the large intake horn for the Ms I just went down to the HDepot and looked around.... You can find plenty of things that would work and not have to spend 100 bones!
For my old M7, I found a pvc (Black) floor mount for a toilet. it had a metal ring on it but still a pvc flange. Just snip off the metal (2 sec.) drill a four holes and it mounts right up! $6.49 and couple of bucks for a new hose clamp.
You will not be able to tell it from an after market! My buddies cracked up and say I ride for team toilet (while they ***** cause they have no money!)

So why do I need to spend money for a SLP one again?

If any of you use my ingenuity.
Send me a beer for the price!

I want one, but if a meteor comes down and drills my handlebars, will it bounce off and wreck my gauge? LOL!

i guess we will see if you roll your sled and it flys off and rips the plug out of the back and it will only cost you 400.00 then it was a legit question.

Itsadrug just sent me his newly fabbed bracket for the REGULAR gauge. The original was made to fit the Sno Pro gauge only. The new one works well on the regular 08 and newer round gauge. His customer service is excellent. I hope he keeps coming up with more lightweight mods! (He will post some pics of this gauge bracket.)

I got mine installed today with the standard gauge. Directions are not the best, but after some messing around I got it figured out. I did have to cut the studs shorter on the gauge. It is the only way you could adjust it.

I forgot to wipe the wax off my sled before I took the pics!
