M1000 Problem

B
I have a 07 M1000. The problem im having is on a long pull I can watch my A/F gauge go lean and before it gets to lean the motor dies instantly like someone hit the kill switch. Im guessing its the fuel pump. I got it to start one after it sat of some time but the second time it did it in the same day it failed to start. When I pull the rope the gauge lights up but it wont even try to start its like it doesnt have fuel. Anyone have a simular problem. Does it sound like a fuel pump?

You might want to get a fuel pressure gauge. That will tell you for sure. I have heard alot of people talking about chaffed wires, you should check the fuel pump wires. Hope this helps.

Pull your pipe off then look in through your Y pipe. My guess is you have scuffed the cylinders/pistons.

Been there done that. What you have described is a burn down.

Mine would do the same thing. I got it to start for 5-6 times after an event like you explained. But when it finally got bad enough to loose compression that was it.

Again pull the pipe and take a look.

No need to guess this^^^^ is your answer. You ran it too lean, gauges aren't always accurate.

P.S. the m1000 runs stronger when not lean, add quite a bit of fuel and watch it go. If you want to start it add a lot of fuel on the bottom and it will help create compression.
