M1000 Injectors

Anybody have success running M1000 injectors in a boosted M8?
My Cutler stage II (used) runs lean at WOT with the boost fuel set at max in the Attitude controller. Needs more fuel to get Air/Fuel ratio from 13's down to 11's.

Are you running a rising rate fuel pressure regulator? A 1 to1? If that map in the fuel controller was made for one, it needs one to work. You can send it back to dale and have him increase the fuel points and do the same thing, down side is the entire range increases proportionally also. If you put the m1000 injectors in your sled as primaries you will have the same problem. If you have extra injectors and have the m8 as secondaries the m1000 are the same physical size. They are 30% larger at 830cc or 83lb and the m8 is 630cc or 63 lb.

Hope that helps you

Jim

Jim - thank you for your reply. If the M1000 injectors have 30% more output then for the same injector pulse window I should be getting more fuel. Don't understand why I'll have the same problem??

Is your box a 4 injector? is your fpr hooked to boost? is it a 1 to 1? whats your fp at idle vs full throttle?

What Polarisrocks is trying to say is, by simply changing injectors, you will have more fuel in all settings across the board instead of just the rpm range you need it. You'll have 30% more at idle, 30% more at 3000 rpm, 30% more at WOT, etc. It might fix your mid-range problem, but it will likely load up on fuel in other rpm areas.

SO basically you would need to completely recreate your map but it would get the job done. Thats how im understanding this.

I understand what you mean with the M1000 injectors.
This is a used system that I rebuilt and installed. Previous owner ran a 2009 M8 at 10 psi and he claimed to have no problems. Boost box is plumbed to the fuel pump regulator. Can't read WOT fuel pressure to easily as the gauge is under the hood. Might try removing the hood this weekend and seeing if I can read the gauge at 80 MPH....
I have only one injector per cylinder. Having two with the appropriate controller would be the fix.
I'll talk to Derek at Attitude and see how close the max fuel/# boost settings get to the maximum output of the M8 injectors. Right now I'm running this setting at 8 (maximum) and can't get a rich enough mix (A/F = 13 at 10 psi).
Short term solution is to turn the boost down but that's hard to do.....

M1000 Injectors?

Thanks for your replies!
I have the stock M8 fuel pump with the pressure regulator attached directly to the pump (old style).
Anybody know anything about replacing the M8 fuel pump with a higher flow rate unit?
I know Cutler has one but I'm sure it's an automotive unit that they found works well.
Would like to buy from an autoparts store if possible.
Thinking this may gain me some boost level without going to the dual injector setup.
