M1000 Hiccups on the Bottom

you dont got to read the gauge, just ride it and hope you recorded IT!!! Thats when it starts to happen!! the pipe gets hot and your outahere, Cat SEEMS to think on a M1000 we need to heat the pipe up to get a good hole shot!! NOT TRUE, Just dont cool it down when your on a side hill and need that power, REPROGRAM

Stock fuel pressure varies between 41-47psi. Dial it down closer to 42psi(do it in steps if you are concerned) and you will see a huge difference. The Pure logic box is great but if you are starting really high on fuel pressure you may not be able to pull enough fuel away to compensate.

My Oil is running about 31:1 I think I will leave it there until 500 miles at least. Not sure what the fuel pressure is running but I will ask them. I am thinking this is an ECU/ Mapping issue which could easily be remedied by changing the ECU with another sled perhaps.

mine is right in the 3900-4100 range it is intermittent and only when the machine is hot. Does anyone know what happens to the fuel map when the sled is cold vs when it is warm? I am thinking it is supposed to do something or perhaps it is not doing something. I also wonder if this is an O2 probe problem that wont spit out an error code

I have a similar issue with 07 M1000.

If I am cruising around 5000 rpm and hit a bump in the snow and nail the throttle and then let off fast when in the air the sled will die some times. Like the fuel shuts off to fast and just dies. Will fire right back up with no issues. Or if I blip the throttle when the R's strat to get low I can catch it. Again it only happened twice last weekend.

I haven't noticed any 4000 rpm dead spot at this point. I am running the BMP inline fuel pressure regulator at 42psi.

Keep posting guys, this post will be printed out and be handed to my dealer and arctic cat and possibly to my atty. Hopefully a/c will read this and do something about it. My dealer has, in my opinion, tried as hard as they can to fix this...I'm not blaming them and am very happy with their efforts but as we've all said, 12000 for a sled is too much to live with these annoying problems...Thanks a lot for all the input!!!!!

A bit more info on this issue.
I have tried backing the fuel pressure down to 42, 41, and even 40 to see if I could cure the issue. Did not make a sh** of difference in my testing.
At 42 psi I tried to pull more fuel with the Attitude box as well. Sled runs great at mid and wide open but after a long pull or even boondocking through the trees it loads up.
I talked to the dealer today and they are just a frustrated with these 08 M1K as we are. WTF!

Its funny you say that...My dealer has been great so far but now they're not calling me back?!? My atty. IS calling me back and he is looking in to the lemon law being applicable to snowmobiles...I'll keep posting

The title of the thread wasn't specific on year of M1000.

Don't know but is this an 08 thing or are the 07's having the same issues?

I know my 07 doesn't have this dead spot that everyone is talking about. Well not yet!

I haven't have my ECU flashed, and no mods to speak of.

My 2007 does pretty much the same as everyone else's on here. The small stumble around 3500-4000rpm is not terrible on mine, but if I stop to drag a buddy or something(after riding), lots of times it will feel like it drops a cylinder when I punch it. Sometimes I have to punch it 3-4-5 times to get it to finally grab and rip! The mid range stumble almost seems like a lean roll. I know that watching my egt, if i travel at trail speed, say 30 to 45 mph, for any distance my exhaust starts to get hot, hot, hot! Down low it is fat, burbling and back firing. I was going to bring in the ecm to get it done today, but the dealer told me it was to lean out the bottem end? Do we know for sure what they are changing here?

When I added the can and air intake, the bottem seemed to clear up a little and the mid seemed to get a little worse, the top end has always worked well to almost stupid! I think that we need cat to take a really good look at their fuel maps and come out with something better.

Squeeky wheels get the grease...keep it up!

I haven't heard of the 07s doing it as bad...I think the majority of the sleds with this problem are 08s...I'd just like to hear from someone who has experienced this problem and found the solution to it...thanks everyone

I agree with you 100%

But if the 08s are worse. Then I don't want to reflash my ECU on my 07 and go backwards.

I think I will sit on my hands for a couple more months and see how this reflash turns out prior to dumping my 07 program that is working pretty darn good now.
