M1000 exhaust setup

I apologize in advance if this is a repeat but i couldn't find a similar thread. I was curious if anyone had compared the full speedwerx and SLP exhaust systems: wieght, hp, fit and finish? Iv'e ran a lot of SLP stuff and it always seems to be high quality stuff, but i don't have much experience with Speedwerx. Any advice would be much appreciated!

SLP VS Speedwerx

Both are great. The thing that Speedwerx has advantage is the tunnel dump. The other is when we do a port job we found that speedwerx had the advantage. With that said you can not beat slp for price fit and finish and they run real good. So if you do not plan on motor work and you are not concerned with right hand bog SLP is the way to go.

I ran the full SLP setup on my 07 M-1 and I'm running the full Speedwerx system with the tunnel dump can on my 09 this season. Now that Speedwerx is putting the pipe band around their pipes, so they don't have any crack failures I like the Speedwerx system the best. With the tunnel dump can no bogging pulling side hills and I think the system works and sounds better. Just my .02

I have three sleds all with different exhaust setup. One has bikeman, one is speedwerx and one is the slp! All seem to perform well with the speedwerx pullling the hardest with the bikeman in a close second and slp seems to be third. If I was going to buy another one I would go with a speedwerx with tunnel dumb it is a good setup. I would definetly stay away from the bikeman though there fit and finish sucks and it broke and fell apart last year, but they did warrantee it. The speedwerx also fell apart but it was after a couple years of hard riding. The slp doesnt fit very good it rubs on the metal plate that covers the wiring on the steering post. Just my .02 cents good luck

You must have a problem
My slp has been great fits good with no problems. 2 years and over 3000 miles of hard riding. I have also gone up against some bikeman piped 1000's and embarrassed them to the point they are running slp and run much stronger.The d&d is closer but still not there. SLP and SW are the only option for mountain riding. both are really good pipes. Now that Slp has the Power commander to go with there pipe I would go that way. As far as porting, like said above SW is the winner. I thought about getting one and doing it but figured with the slp I am already running far above the stock sleds, so next step is a turbo. RKT propably has the best porting for the m1000 with SW pipe and said that a stock m1000 motor had just a touch more power with SLP pipe(not enough to make a diff) just on the dyno, I have no experience with the tunnel dump. But don't have any bog issues either.

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate the info. I was checking out their websites and SW seems quite a bit more expensive, but maybe its worth it. How about the exhaust tone, i have a buddy thats running SLP on his m8 and it sounds pretty good, but i don't want an annoying sled either. Thanks

Come on, the pipe is the only horn we have for passing:D:D:beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;

The slp pipe on the m1000 sound almost stock and a little louder than stock at wot. Most new people I ride with don't figure out I have a pipe until I pull a hill they couldn't touch. Then they start quizing or just ask what I did. To me If your not going to port it I would get the SLP, for the money and I know what works on them.

Thanks again for the help fellas. I talked to racin station today and i think i'm going with speedwerx and the power commander. Also might go with a Jaws can? Dont know yet
