m1000 air intake mod??

Was told that the speedwex billet air horn was a great mod to the m1000.
Easy to install and helped with air intake considerably.
Anyone else agree?
I'm looking for an easy install and stay stock otherwise.

Good day. Had one on my 08 M1000 and my brother put one on his M1000 also, did not really notice a change in performance but it sure did not hurt. I checked and the aftermarket air horn does open the intake tract up to the same size as the hole in the factory banjo tube and the hole where the tube attaches to the hood. Can post some pics if u like.

Every sled is different but i installed a MBRP can and the larger billet air horn without any issues. Since then i have installed a Timbersled intake, vents, had Linderman machine my head for premium and installed a SLP Y pipe. I do not run a box but i do run Koso egts and have checked my plugs. My sled does not run lean but i will install a box and fuel regulator + gauge when i install my SLP pipe. My opinion is you should be ok with just the billet air horn but should still check the plugs.

go to your dealer and ask for the 440 race sled intake horn same thing but costs way less, costed me 14$ CDN...

EDIT: My dealer told me about this 440 intake horn, its part # 1670-315 called an air silencer, now you have to trim your air box opening to make it fit but its no big deal and you also have to trim the bottom of the new horn because it 2-3 inches to long, and it needs 3 small wood screws to hold it in place,

you can look at it here: http://www.countrycat.net/pages/parts/viewbybrand/3/0/34493/1347/default.aspx

good timing for this thread! i was just getting ready to post one! i'm thinking about removing the stock hood box, and putting a k&n air cone on the stock air box horn. and also drilling some extra holes in the top of the box for some more air intake. my only question is by adding extra holes in the top, is that going to maybe cause turbulance in the incoming air? good or bad?
