I have a '07 M1K. What is involved in converting over to a Sno-Pro style gauge?? Is this a plug and play conversion? Or much more involved? :confused:

The altimeter feature sure seems usable.

Thanks in advance.

I bought an 07 M10 sno pro used and wasn't even aware of that feature. How do you get to the alltimeter function?

I dont think they had that till 08. Does your gauge look like this?

I should have been more clear. Sorry.............but the picture is the gauge I;m interested in switching over to. Any more thoughts on switching a 07 over to a 08 Sno Pro gauge??

I have an 07 hood, and an 08 hood. The gauge cutout in the 07 hood is much larger. The altimeter gauge may cover, and the larger cutout might not matter but it's something to think about.

Thank you. I had not thought about hoods being different. Could get a bit expensive. :(

Grief is what I had with my 08 snopro1000 gauge, My dealer finally replaced it my I am still concerned it's not right,because it's the same one the sled my sled came with Leakers.,not good especially being stranded out in the back country.:(. Besides the gauge:D.Cheers Red Dog.

ecu?

Hey Q, thanks for calling me back......:eek::beer;

The sp gauge is alright, they sound cool. But if i was to put a $ on them, it would be less than $100 in value. They tend to build up fog inside during some deep days, they are known to go blank screen, till the sled is re-started or dried out. The 3-button functions are lame, and still havent figured how to reset the param's. And for us getting older, they can be a hard to read during most low-light conditions, esp WOT!!!!.

i wish it had.........changing backlight colors, like the original M7 in '05!

On my M8, I've found the altimeter to be pretty much worthless. Use a GPS unit for better numbers.

I thought that some where on here someone said that A.C. had a suit against the guage company.

I would like to know what it would take to retro it to an 08' non sno pro.

Thank you all for your input. I think I'll focus my energies on somethings that make it go up hills faster............and easier. current gauge works and that's enough for now. :D:beer;:beer;

Think fluffy, deep snow!!

So let's say my altimeter is within 200' as well, it doesn't change anything for me. Pretty much non value added information as I'm not tweaking an aftermarket fuel box or making clutching adjustments on the snow. Run what you brung - The altitude is what it is.

Here's the altitude variation over a day's ride at Vail...

And a day at Rabbit Ears...

Q,
The wire harness is different and so are the plugs. Don't think it would work even if you could get it to fit in your hood...
