M-series fuel leak?

Is anyone else experiencing a fuel leak right at the fitting coming from the tank?
Mine leaked the first ride... The clamp was so tight it had cut into the hose and would leak.
I cut the hose back, clamped it on and it still leaked... I then made a plastic sleeve to put between the hose clamp and hose, but its not a perfect wrap, and still shows moisture on the hose.
I hate to take in my sled for something that should be an easy fix.
It seems as if they should have multiple barbs on the fitting rather than a single one at the end.
My dad checked his buddies M-8, and it had the same problem.

That fitting with the hose barb that screws on to the fuel pump may not be tight. Take the fuel line off and put a wrench on the fitting and see if it is just a little loose. It uses a o-ring to seal, if it isnt tight it will weep fuel.

Arctic cat chooses to use crappy fuel line. SO......go to your best trusted auto parts house and buy fuel line rated for fuel injector use,(5/16) install it where the crappy hose used to be, end of seepping!

Doken are you talking about the fitting on the fuel tank near the recoil rope? Mine 08 M1000 also has a wetness there thought it was a fuel leak but smelled it its not gas, thought it may be antifreeze from the antifeeze tank but Im not sure what it is or where its comng from???

Thanks for the replies!
I didn't think that the fitting could be loose.
Mine is definately fuel.
I think the different fuel line is probably the best fix. If that is truly where the leak is.

i just trimed my fuel line back a 1/2 inch and used a silicone hose clamp(they are smooth on the inside) and no leaks....first did this on my o5 m7 and now on my 08...:beer;:D

Has replacing the fuel line solved the problem?

I used a thin piece of plastic under the hose clamp as a type of shield... This way I was able to tighten the clamp tight without ripping the fuel line.
So far it has held up good with no leaks.
My next option would be to replace the fuel line.

Same here

I had mine in the dealer for some other stuff and asked the mechanic about that. He was one of those good ol boy wrenchers. The guy smelled and (tasted) the fluid. Not gas or coolant. No answers on what fluid actually is on the fitting. I had the same fluid on the 07 and 08.

my m8 fuel line was actually wet... it was just my clamp. it wasnt tight at all. snugged it up and now no more wet hose. but it must sweat ever so slightly cause debris sticks to the fuel line.
