M series and water-x

Who Cares??? Its a SNOWmobile. :D Not a jet ski!:D Just givin you a hard time MC570.... Too much free time at work and no snow ;)

ive crossed a lot of water with my 98 zr 600 with a 1 inch lug track so i would imagine it would be pretty good.

my m6 with a 2.25 by 153 is brutal, sled just keeps on hoping and im scared to go over a hundred feet, seems like the track is scooping way to much water, on the other hand my ol 95 583 ski doo with a 121 by .75 lug was amazing on water, could go 40 mph all day long as long as you wanted, I think the lugs are to big, but if it works for you then great.

I don't know about the M's but I know the summits are brutal. The track is so long is just fill the tunnel with water and the sled starts to bog down. I think the shorter sleds do much better than the long ones. My F7 runs water like a champ! I have done over a mile of open water with it.

attack 20 in powder position is a very good water track. you can get going pretty slow and it will get back on top of the water easy. Not sure about how it is flipped around.

longer track or big paddles=more HP needed. i run a 136x2 on a modded 800 and it will go but it is working pretty hard to do it. your sled will probably do just fine on short crossings but might not do so good on long ones. jmo

crossed about 30ft of water last year on my 07 m1000 162, I have the gen II skis and it went across the water without sinking or getting water on top the skis, floated right across around 10 mph, I couldn't believe it.

My m1000 with a 153 powerclaw did great, in fact the first time I tried it I picked up too much speed and jumped a small island and had to keep going another 100 yds till I hit some solid ice. My wife was soooo impressed.;) I think I was what she calls a J@ckass.:D

Thanks for the replies. Anyone know how well my King Cat with a 162" A20 flipped around would do?

IF you have the track speed to shoot the water off the flipper you will be fine. If the attack20 in hill climb starts to scoop you will pull a tone of power from the motor. IT will water cross much better in the powder position.

Get the first generation plastic flap that covers the big azz holes at your feet. With out them you will be wet to your nut sack. The water shoots straight up the holes. On the M check for a caulking leak right by the clutch side motor mount. If water comes in there you will not be on top very long.

If you have a bar riser you can put three or four water ski belt floats and one life jacket on the bars like it is on you. Bars out the arm holes. You can put three stacked and roped down on the back rack where you would put your gas and the sled will float. This is till you get the feel of water riding.

Don.

2006 153 m7 can run at half throttle on still water once you are up and planing, but i am also running simmons skis, btw simmons skis cant lean over in the water, you will sink pretty much need to go straight
