M.N to Togwotee take 90 or 212 in south dakota

Witch is faster coming from st.cloud to drop down to 90 or take 212 across S.D.? Is 212 a good road?

212 or I90

212 is a 2 lane rd and I would check the westher before you leave. Try to get on the interstate somewhere out in SD. Unless you want to see alot of small towns in SD>

What is the speed limit on 212? It looks by map to be about 75 miles further to go down to 90.

You'll lose all of that 75 miles by the speed limit and driving through the towns. If you come down to Brookings and take 14 all the way across to pierre and then follow 34 all the way to Sturgis (new road) you'll save 30 miles.

Personally, I'd take interstate the whole way if the weather is good.

we normally take the freeway but just looking for a shorter way.

..I get to the Blk Hills about twice a month from MN, most of the year..I'd use the freeway going out there, because I drive all night long, and you don't want to go the 212 way at night..more wild life,deer that way..plus the slow down for 30MPH in small town all over the place..go the freeway..
