What a bunch of degenerates, I meant the only in a staunch cannibalistic sorta way...Except 4 u Ruby!

HOLY CRAP, only in the Utah section can you go from lost snowmobilers to men eating men in a couple threads. LOL:D

Donner party, Donner... party of 9. Your table is ready.
no need to pack a lunch. Finger food tonight, guys.

Ruby always gets picked first. Must be the full head of hair. ;)

I was on the this search and it is amazing that they are alive. They got lost in a storm, then stuck a few hundred yards from each other so they spent the three nights alone and it was below zero each night. It had snowed two feet since they went missing so there were no tracks and no way of knowing which direction they had gone.
The DPS chopper came down from SLC on Tuesday night but left Wednesday mid-day because of a storm that was moving in. It was a private chopper who located them in a steep canyon Wed. afternoon.
They didn't have any survival gear or food or water. Neither one built a fire. I'm not kidding, I really thought that we were looking for bodies.
Not only were they ok but they were up and walking around. In fact, after putting gas in his sled (he ran it dry trying to stay warm) and getting it unstuck, he rode it out. It looks like the only injury was severe frostbite on her feet, which considering the temps. is amazing.
This is really an amazing story of survival. I can't believe that the news hasn't paid more attention to it.

That is a very happy ending. I'm stunned they made it that long. We can never carry enough gear for an event like this. They had a higher power helping them out and great people searching. My respect to all who kept looking.

Did they dig a cave for shelter? That is amazing they made it? Good on ya for looking for them!

No caves! He stayed with his sled the whole time and I beleive just slept under a tree. She stayed with her sled until Tues. morning then started walking down canyon not even knowing that he was still on the mountain. It took her almost two days to cover the 2-300 yards between them but she thought that she had walked 10-15 miles! She had just come upon him and was still about 20 feet away when we got there. I asked how she slept and she said that she just huddled up under trees. She was still carrying her helmet so maybe she put it on at night. She no longer had her gloves as she had lost them along the way but didn't seem to have any frostbite on her hands.

Very lucky indeed!
