lubricating throttle cable?

wondering what works the best and/or the best way to go about it. throttle cable is very rough feeling and does not slide very easily. sled is an 06 m7 if it matters. thanks for the info in advance.

yeah wd-40... spray as much as you can in the cable body then use compressed air to push the wd-40 thru to the other side. might have to find a small piece of hose that will fit over the cable then clamp it down that way you can use the tip of a blow nozzle and seal and push full psi thru the cable.

You can buy a little $10.00 ???? tool for that . Cheap and they work Awesome . Most dealers have them . .

I would recommend replacing it, sucks getting stuck on a ride. When you get the new one spray it. You can get a little tool at any motorcycle shop that seals around the top of the cable and has a port to spray lube in that forces it inside the cable.

P.S. Throttle cables are one of the things you NEVER buy aftermarket. I have seen way to many of these fail with in the first year of use.

I use a product similar to wd-40 but with no water content. It is actually a brp lube. Has worked great so far.
