Low end bog need help.

Got the sleds down to my house today and running but they aren't running as great as I'd like. Both sleds (94 AC 440 and 97 MM 700) will start up and idle just great. Then when you first give them gas they will bog down and not go, but then when the engine "catches up" and takes off they will fly no problem. Both sleds have old belts that have seen better days, and I have yet to clean the carbs or clutches. So I was wondering where I should start? Could it be just needing a carb cleaning (pilot jet?) clutch cleaning or just a new belt? Or something else might be causing it to bog at take off, but then run like a champ when going.

Clean the primary and secondary clutches and replace belts. Then go through the carbs if they don't improve.
The bogging when you first hit the gas is the motor trying to overcome the stuck clutch(secondary). Small motors don't make enough low end torque to overcome a bad clutch.
