Low altitude compression/Pump gas

Hi! I'am rather new in turbo scene so I ask from the wise.

So I'm building 600 sdi turbo and wondering the proper head compression on pump gas.
I have difficulties to have high octane race fuel or AVgas. And I run 1000ft sea level.

Is 10:1 and timing back too much? Stock compression is 12.25:1

And sorry for my not so best english... not my native language
