Hate to say this because I know the family but, there are risks to everything you do. Brandon chose to play baseball which means he accepted the risks involved. I'm sure he even had to sign a waiver? Now as far as aluminum bats are concerned everyone knows that a ball hit with an aluminum bat travels faster and farther than with a wood bat. That is why they are so poular in basebal and softball with the exception of pro ball. And that is why they are not used in pro ball, everyone would be a homerun hitter if they were used. So how can someone say we didn't know they were dangerous and there should be warning labels on them. But I guess there are always the McDonalds people out there. Don't get me wrong. It was a tragic loss for the Patch family, but where do we draw the line. What about all the people killed in car accidents every year. Should their survivors be entitled to millions because the vehicle was not equipped with a warning sticker saying driving a car could be dangerous?

What about when a wooden bat breaks on impact and a huge chunk of the wooden bad splinters and stabs the pitcher killing them. Would be a freak accident, just like this. Would the family then sue and say why werent they using metal bats?

i fell down on the sidewalk and broke my elbow, should i sue the peeps who make concrete because there was no warning the cement was hard? just can't see always looking for someone to blame when something bad happens. life causes death and there are risks you take everytime you walk out the door. if there were no risks life would be pretty boring...
