Lost safety on bear scare

Yesterday while packing up for camping I was putting the three cans of Bear scare ( pepper spray ) in a small cooler to transport safely one can that had the safety clip missing shot a good one second shot from about a foot directly into my face and eyes. I have never in my life felt the pain that I got.
I flushed my face with a hose for over an hour nearly drowning myself in the process. Today around 16 hours later my face still is burning.My face is real red with blood shot eyes I look like a rubby.
So a warning to all be careful with this chit. I think shooting the bear with a gun maybe a little more humane.

One day you'll look back and laugh but probably not yet. A friend of mine shot a bear with an arrow and the bear turned and bolted over the bush he was hiding in about 30 yards away, all he had handy was pepper spray which he blasted the bear with as it trampled him trying to escape. He claims that the spray stopped the bear quicker than a gun would have and he now packs that stuff instead of a sidearm in bear country.

If that happened to me it would be because the 2 year old ate the safety clip, what's your story? Friendly fire isn't very friendly is it?

No I don't think so. I don't think I'll even ever be able to even eat a taco.Even with sun glasses on and its a cloudy day I can't go outside because the brightness makes my eyes burn and water like crazy.

They sell this stuff in regular and super hot I from now on will buy the regular.

I have had many broken bones, a crushed spinal cord that required removing a disk out of my neck and replacing with a titanium plate,a cracked t-9 sledding May long weekend 07 and can't forget the heart attack of 1999 all which caused a lot of pain.All these ailments were nothing compared to and I would almost welcome then all once instead of another shot of bear scare.
Just my opinion though.

I was laughing 2 hours later.
What don't kill you makes you stronger thats my moto.
And yes there Cobbycat chit sure is hard on eyes but I can now see clearly. I think I may rig a can of that on my sled trailer for the criminals. Would be fun to run into one that couldn't see for identification purposes. Could easily say he fell on my bat.

As I have a few cans I gave this one with missing saftey clip to a buddy. Before he left my shop he was tapeing up the top when it went off in his face. I don't think he wants it anymore and after hearing him scream like a girl I think I'll dispose at the fire dept.
That is if there is someone in the Calgary area willing 2 take the chance just PM me.
