Lost Lake

Went to Lost Lake Snug Harbor entrance on Saturday. Road going in is good except for a few muddy spots, unloaded at the usual spot but could have kept driving up past the S-turns. (Warning, parking is very limited further up wouldn't recommend 4 place trailers unless you are real good at backing up).
Bare spots on the road up to the trail head due to it being plowed earlier but once on the trail going up there is still plenty of snow left. Only got up the pass but turned around due to the weather and came down and road the trail to Upper Russsian lake. Concidering the conditions all in all it was a great day. Talked to some other riders who were in there the day before and said the riding is still great all over up in Lost Lake area.

You know, Pete is just that way. He works week on and week off. He makes sure to wave at me and smile every weekday moring around 1000 am as he heads to the mtns as I am driving around in my work truck. What a guy! Pete you are number 1 in my book. ;)

Do you think the snow will hold up for another week? Sure would like to ride there on Saturday.

I dont see why not pending a big rain storm or something of that nature. You might have to keep going up the road till you hit snow is all. That is if you go in from Snug Harbor. The two big hills going in to the pass havent even started melting off yet. Keep your fingers crossed.

Yeah, Snug is how we usually access Lost Lake. I am crossing my fingers and all my toes, I really need to get in 1 more ride before I put the sleds up for the year. Thanks for the info Glacier Rider!

Who knows I might just be coming down with a nasty cold and might have to take a day off this week if this weather holds. Tired of trying to time the weekend with the weather.

Just a heads up for anyone headed south this coming weekend. The bridges just south of Moose Pass that have had the stoplights on them this winter ARE GOING TO BE CLOSED FOR THIS WEEKEND!!! That means from 10pm Friday night til 6am monday morning, you can not travel south of Moose Pass! That leaves access via Snug Harbor only for Lost Lake this coming weekend! Might want to pass this info to anyone that might be headed to Seward for some fishing this weekend as well. Both seward and Whittier are cut off.....Wish I was stuck on the OTHER side of either of these. :D

Just another great ride!

Went up firemans trail ,we need to start using the by pass ,the riders later in the day where using it . thanks guys. rode back around a couple mountains to view upper russian lake and exit glacier and resurrection bay from one peak. have fun and watch for slides a few small ones have came down. sorry ultra tim I looked for you as I went through town but didn't see ya to wave:D:beer;
