lost another shaft :/

No disrespect, but i don't think we need to start a new thread every time a shaft breaks. I'm sure MH and the others would like stuff like this posted in the other 10 threads on the same subject.

Sucks though!!!! Keep on keepin on!:yo:

Hey I bought my sled to ride. My clamp came in so I don't have to worry about it but I was going regardless. If you want to sit at home, have fun. It is not guarrantied your shaft is going to break.

I mean no disrespect either but if you are a member of snowest and ride your sled without a clamp and it breaks you have no one to blame but yourself.

This "my dealer didn't have them in stock" is not an excuse, the aftermarket has them in stock, and for $80 you could have enjoyed that fresh pow all day. Youre already 12k into it, dont get cheap now.

Hope they can get you fixed up ASAP so you can be out tearing it up over the next week!

Is that the same logic as if you can afford a turbo you can afford race fuel. Some people might not want to pay $80 for something That polaris should fix. If I was coming from the midwest to cooke for a 1500 mile trip, I would probably bought an aftermarket fix. This is nobodies fault other than polaris, period. So cut the guy some slack. I'm sure he new he was taking a chance.

exactly......its like going crap in a washroom knowing full well there is no toilet paper to wipe your butt...

--but a lot of people said there was no real issue and many had made it past 100 miles, why not him? A guy should at least be able to ride a 13 Pro around in his back yard in 12 inches of fresh snow--right?

The Mediators really should erase every New post that is about the Polaris shaft failures that doesn’t have pictures attached. Or make it a requirement to post anything regarding this issue. It is WAY!!! to easy for someone to sit at keyboard and keep all the negative hype rolling along about this issue. <O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
It now seems like people are trying to out do each other by how few miles they ride before it breaks. I am now reading all of these posts looking for someone to come out and say that they have a buddy that was warming up his sled on the trailer and the shaft just broke without even moving the sled at all. It is starting to get ridiculous. I would be willing to bet that at least 25% of all of these posts are bogus and are just trying to feed the negative hype machine <O:p</O:p

I think he has every right to post this! Seriously, it is a joke that these manufacturers can make a 12k product that cannot hold up for 5 freaking miles. And who cares if they acknowledge a problem what good does it do to a guy sitting on his sled with a broken driveshaft? I don't blame the guy for going without a clamp, why should he need to pay 80$ to make his new sled work? Next they will start selling sleds without the belts :face-icon-small-con

clamp

I own a 2013 Pro, well over 200 miles with no clamp. dealer has clamps ready to go. The reason for me not having the dealer install a clamp is because at this time there is no law against riding without one. Sound like some people would like to make it a federal offense to ride without a clamp, or at least call the person stupid

Oh it totally broke with 5 miles, he just spent his weekend riding his yamaha attack again. Knock on wood my shaft has 165 miles and no collars

My Dealer

Not sure why anyone that reads these forums and owns a 13 PRO would attempt to ride without a clamp.......Can't really blame Polaris they have admitted to the problem and advised people as to what to do before riding their sleds.

I've been into my dealer 4 times and get a update he has told me every time just ride the dam thing. I've been riding it like I stole it, no issues with anything and he knows it. That being said I had no idea that polaris came out with the collar kit, my buddy at work told me he even got the service bulletin off Hard Core Sledder. I e-mailed my dealer and sent him the service letter he has acknowledged it's legit and when the shaft collars come in he will schedule the update. But he said again ride the thing.I think he was surprised i had the official Polaris S.B, i was a little pissed he never told me himself and I found out through friends.
Have about 150 km on it.
