Lost a Qdrive belt

Riding up at Mt Baker, buddy was sidehilling and lost about 8 teeth on belt. Sled had over 500 miles on it and it was broke in proper. Lucky I had a spare in the truck. Only had to pull the battery and top gear. 20 min. fix but still sucks! No special install tools but it would have made the job easier. Hope Pieriers warrantys it.

Always ride with a spare QD belt. I am becoming an expert at changing them. I lost another one on Friday at baker on a side hill too. So I spent my weekend swapping the chain case from my 2012 600 pro.

Did you mail it to Polaris or just take it to your dealer? Thanks

My dealer warrantied mine. My last one made 30 miles. Was installed correctly I can say I never broke it in for a 100 miles because of the snow but man it does not seem like a reliable setup.

I just lost my first QD belt last weekend in Revelstoke. I was sidehilling and hit a hard drift behind some trees. I thought the drift was going to be soft or I would have went around it, but it pretty much stopped me dead and I flew over the handle bars. Got back on my sled and right away I knew I stripped a few cogs off the belt. Didn't have a spare belt and stripped the rest of the cogs off trying to get up the first hill to get out. Ended up borrowing another guy's belt to get out and then went to town and bought a new one.

Had about 600 miles on it when it went, and I broke it in properly. Found my top sprocket bolt was loose when I changed belts. Have over 120 miles on new belt with no problems so far.

Isn't it awesome you can just change it on the hill like that? I've had 3 chains break in my riding group this week and none of them were easy tow outs.

Yep, a guy I was with last week broke a chain and ruined one of the deepest days all year:face-icon-small-fro I think I'm gonna start requiring a maintenance record before anybody rides with me.

3 chains in 1 week WTF?? who maintains that chit ??in 15 years Iv never seen a broken chain. ever! what are the odds of that

Yeah It was a bad week for them. I've never personally lost a chain, but been there for plenty and a belt change would be way nicer.
