i was wondering what kinda things i can do to my 98 700 rmk to loose some weight?

HA ha im doing the same thing with mine tracking it and putting some goodies on it. I have been told that an o3 edge has lots of parts that will fit it and be lighter and more durable, but thats just taking the cheaper root out. Start with the seat too its way to heavy go to a boss or a company you trust. 
Watch the classifieds, I'm sure I've seen a bunch of boss seats go for cheap. You have a aftermarket pipe and can right?
that stock can weighs 15lbs. the hood is a tank and gonna break if you sneeze.....loose it, the trailing arms can be replaced and as mentioned the seat really could not weigh much more. the extra 10 rode nice but it is far from light weight.
thanks for all the info guys..i think i am going to put an 02 style seat and tank on it, if i did that would it all bolt up or not?
I'm curious about what all has to be done here as well...
if you dont night ride alot you can take the headlight out. the pipe and can would be a must lol that and the seat are going to be your biggest weight loss

Or you can just take the damn turbo out and ride like a MAN!!!! lol I had to say it. But you prob can and that would take some weight off too????? switch track's there are light track's out on the market now a day's could do that too?

edge skid and you might find some cross shafts that are still steel that can be replaced with a 7075 or 2440 aluminum

ported track (snow weight loss) newer tracks are also lighter...
There might be some air 2.0's for your machine...maybe...
There is also a dIY rear coilover mod to eliminate two torsion springs...but I don't know it... similar to Holts
remove wheels add scratchers and remove outer rear most wheels.

HHMMMM a DIY rear coilover mod anyone for links? I've got a 00 700rmk looking to lose more weight than I've already sawzall'd off of it.
