lookout and western montana

So I herd that they are getting dumped on and the lookout pass website says 16 new inches. Its been so long since we got some snow that i almost don't belive it. Anyone ridden up that way lately, how is it, how much fresh.Thanks

Seeing or riding is believing

Rode today north of I-90 from mullan to the warming shelter side,lots of snow and still real light.Checked out the Stevens side earlier today and that side has about 18 of fresh.When you learn the mountains over here there is a huge difference in snow fall from one area to the next.The klondike side has 4 4ft to 5ft.To much to get in and out,maybe next week after it settles.

i drove over lookout this morning and looks like you could probably do some road riding and the ski mt. said they will open this weekend

lookout

ya you can unload at the resort parkinglot but there isn't much room with a trailer because it's shared by the skiers, we usually unload just off from the taft exit in montana (it's the first exit maybe 5 miles). when you exit you'll see the state shed/gravel yard off to your right thats where we unload. The trail is right behind shed area. The trail ties in with the resort trail but from the hogan exit you can head up the mountian and gain some elevation.

The exit at the 5 Mile Marker is Taft....NOT Haugan. Haugan is MM16. BIG difference in snow depth.Later in the year it might not make a difference....but this early it does!

I had dinner at the O'Aces in DeBorgia tonite...(MM 18) no snow at all on the ground. I'll be out and about hunting this week,so if the snow gets deep on top I'll let you know. :beer;:D:beer;
