Looking to upgrade my 08 M1000

Love my sled run it stock except for can looking to upgrade to a 09 M1000 or 10 M8. Have not seen a M8 all winter and have not read how they are doing. Any problems like clutching etc. Also I got that upgrade on my M1000 and I like everthing but the sputtering around 4500-5500. Are the 09 M1000 like that also? Thanks for any info.:)
 
I dont have much for expierience on the 2010 M8 but from what i have heard it rips, as far as buying a 09 M1000 i would hold off untill the 2011 M1000s come out incase they make an 2011 M1000 H.O. :eek:

IMO I would just stick with your 08 M10 for now, resale is so chitty right now and youd probably lose your a$s on trade, the only real big difference on the 09 M10 is the gauge cluster, rails (which IMO are junk but sexy) and seat, and as for the bog, put your stock can back on and i bet you the bog goes away. But the 09 does have a different fuel map and from what i know there hasnt been much for problems with it.

Just my opinion hope its usefull

I am looking at doing the exact same thing! Looking at the 09 M1000 because of the lightweight bumper, lighter diamond drive, etc... The only problem is there are so many used M1000's and carry overs, they don't seem to be worth crap!
 
Why not just use the money you would lose on the trade and upgrade your 08 to 09 stuff? The tunnel is the only real big differance order the 09 parts from your dealer and convert it or use a kit like black diamond or vanamburge! Put a 2 wheel kit on it from black diamond and a Diamond lite drive and gear it down to 56/64 and you will probably be better off for like 1500 bucks! Thats what i did anyway! I know that neither the 10 m8 or 09 1000 has a chance runnning with myn. just my 0.02

I have an 05 M7 that does the same exact thing. It seems to spit and sputter and clean itself out. From factory the M's have to much fuel pressure (45 to 50 PSI) and have herd the magic number is 40 PSI. I have read that a fuel pressure regulator is the answer to the problem. I found one on ebay and it should be here in a few days. I will get it in and let ya know how it works.
