Well, me and some buddies are looking to plan out a dirtbike trip for the spring/early suimmer. everyone is on 450's and very capable mountain riders. Loving riding in MT on all the trails/woods stuff just wanting to get out.

Wanting something that is sort of what cooke is like in the winter for sledders. You can stay in a hotel/cabin with food and drink, etc close by. Its a bachelor party of sorts for my buddy, want to be able to go out and have a rowdy long weekend and have some fun on the dirt toys.

In SW montana and are willing to travel plenty far. load up a crew cab and hit the road. fill my head with ideas.

The Custer national forest over here in eastern MT has some pretty cool trails and cabins to stay at but no night life for quite a drive. But maybe a possibility to look at.

I'd check out Steamboat Lake Outfitters ... there are enough trails in the north route to keep you riding for 2 days and you can stay at SLO and drink yourselves retarded.

hmm.. sounds exciting. we also might just be lazy and rip up st anthony's and have a part in the enclosed who knows.

thanks for the ideas guys.

Idaho has the best single track in the world, they really seem to care about maintaining single track motorcycle trails, I am going to try Sandpoint this summer

Colorado has some good systems to

the Gunnison BLM office actually has a trail crew that rides bikes
There are some good trails out of Clark near Steamboat lake

Wyoming dosn't know what a motorcycle is,
Utah knows what a motorcycle is but dosn't care, but Hobble creek is awesome

Last I heard, they patrol & monitor the dunes quite heavy anymore for booze & dope...( I know of a guy that got 4 days & a healthy fine for just havin' a pipe 10 yrs ago). I could be wrong though.

If you don't mind traveling a little further, St. George UT has some awesome trails. A little redrock, some sand, and a whole bunch of trails. It's only an hour or so from Vegas, and everybody knows the nite life down there is the best in the country. We took a trip down there for the same thing last year, and it was an awesome 4 days of riding, and partying.

If you are wanting to just trial ride, I would recommend the Piute trail system here in Utah. We take a week long trip every fall. Last year we rode 620 miles in 5 days. The towns are ATV friendly and you can ride right from the campground/cabins to the trails. I can even give you gps maps of the trails we took last year.

I'm from Sandpoint and the trail system just north of town near Naples is a Hoot. Lots of fun trails that go all over the place with some good areas to climb. The soil is VERY sandy up there and it definitely adds to the fun factor.

I have raced all over the country and by far the best place I have been is Idaho City. I have heard up north of there it is even better. Chadron Nebraska is nice too. Here in Minnesota we have some great areas up in the north central part of the state. Akeley being my favorite. Oklahoma has great riding as well as Missouri and Arkansas. It kills me that Wyoming doesn't have any single track (that i know of). I guess I would be afraid of being eating by a bear if I crashed and broke my leg.:face-icon-small-sho
