looking to get a newer sled

im riding a 2000 rmk 700 with a 156" now. im looking to update to a newer sled. i cant afford a brand new sled so im looking for input. about 6k to 7k is all i can spend. lots of boondocking with a few climbs. not loyal to any brand but i dont really like how the skidoo's look.( don't take that the wrong way i know they still perform, just don't like how they look) what should i look at??

Depends on what kind of power you want. The cats M series boondock really well, and you can find a nice 06 M7 for about $5,000. I also like the 07+ RMKS. Fun chassis with plenty of power for boondocking

I would look at getting an M8 or a dragon should have no problem finding either one for that price. The Polaris bumper to bumper warranty is transferable once. Good luck!

This is THE year to buy a sled, if you can afford it, IMO. Cruise through the sled swaps and you'll find some SMOKIN deals to be had. I don't think I've ever seen so many newer sleds so cheap. Just wish I had spare ca$h for it...

the m7, Dragon 7 and m8 are all rated about 20+ more hp than your '00 700.

three years back i made the switch from a 99 rmk 700 to an 06 m7 and couldnt be happier. its only a 7 but its ran neck and neck with any 8 i've ran it against and beat some. i dont think you'd be to dissapointed with any newer 700 or 800.

IMO (take it for what it's worth) the 155/153 range of tracks are the best all around track out. Unless you are looking at getting into some serious highmarking.
If you are, then get all the track you can.
