Looking for sledders with snowboards.

Sled2shred

Backcountry Snowboarding is some of the best. I'm looking for people who know what I'm talking about. I have a KingCat and a M8 both 2 up. I mostly ride Baker,Bearpaw and a few other NW secret spots. So if you have a sled and know to shred please inquire. I need 3 to make a 4 man crew.

I know what you're talking about and have the system totally figured out. My buddys and I are mainly 2 plankers and telemark backcountry shredders but take friends boarding alot too.

We go all over the Cascades and tear it up! There is NO POINT IN GOING TO ALPI ANY MORE!!! No lift lines, no closed runs, no ski patrol and freshies every run.

Our group always has room for more but we are going to the Methow Friday for 10 days. Then I come home for 4 days and take off to McCall for 12 days. Maybe when I get back we can hook up. PM me Eric.

McCloud Fricken rocks!!!!

been snowboarding most of my life, just got into snowmobiling last year for the same reasons. Been up to Baker a few times but live closer to Adams/Helens. Haven't even been to Helens yet but hoping to scout it out this weekend.

Here's ones. I got the snowmobiles just for that reason. Thing is though since getting a snowmobile I havnt really touched my splitboard, lol. Im interested though if you know where the good are and in need of a partner. I live up in bellingham

Count me in..

Got a crew 3-4 sleds and boarders most days. We ride snoqualmie pass. This is all of our first year trying shuttle lines so we are still learning. We've got quite a few lines although we keep finding pickup routes blocked by slides recently. Lately we've been mobbing Mt. Margret.

Check the vid from our last trip:
Gold Creek SnoMoBro Session

We'll be heading out Sunday, PM me if you'd like to join. More the merrier.

Margret is fun but you can do soooooo much better. Here's a tip for those that Don't know this, Put on a climbing harness with a belay device, run about 50 feet of dynamic thin guage glacier rope from the sled through the device. You can hold on with one hand and if the rider goes too fast you can just let go of the rope and it will just slip right through and you are off.

If you don't have a harness you can use a mountain bike inner tube around the lower back and below your butt, clip a beaner through the tube at your waist and then use the belay device. It's a very cushy ride as it streches out when the rider hits the throttle and it comes off in 1 second. Just un-clip the beaner.

That works well for several miles with no arm stress. For short, steep pulls, side by side on the sled works best, one guy on the throttle and one guy on the brake and cross arms on the mt bar. The brake guy has to be ready to jump at any time with his board on his back pack.

There is basically 4 methods of 2up riding and they all have there pros&cons.I prefer the old traditional way in the steeps and towing in the bumps.I had to do Canadian style(sidebyside)to get out of a deep steep draw but would't do that all day long. Another one is to have passenger ride up front and driver stands behind, they would need handles on tank sides. I carry the boards tight to the tunnel and far forward so they dont stick out. I use to ski(24 years ago) but would hate to ride in them kind of boots. But all in all it just needs to be safe, fun and comfortable. There really needs to be a sled design to suit the application. In my mind that would be a 2up mountain sled. The passenger still has to balance but not so much in the up front position. All in the name of gettin some!

We either ride tandem, or pull with a water ski rope. Basically we try to tandem as much as possible since is faster, but I haven't quite figured out a good way to sidehill and tandem, seems like unless your rolling logging roads or riding straight up, tandem starts to loose it's allure.

I can't say enough about CFR racks, they are definitely the way to go. I've been out 12 days with mine now and not a single issue and I've rolled my sled, jumped it, and got it stuck numerous times with my board all snug on the back. I love listening to my friends complain about how their board on their back is tiring them out. I throw the board in the rack and forget about it and that way I can still enjoy riding my sled all day if snowboarding conditions are a bust.

Here's my rig:

I've made backrests out of emt or rigid conduit. It makes for a nice handlebar for the passenger, a holder for the bungee&board and also holds my backpack. That way when I drive and I'm free to move. I got a kimpex removeable backrest for my M8 for $170 and does the same as $10 Electrician Special. As long as the passenger has the notion of balance I've climbed hills I would have never imagined. My KingCat has a short seat so I'm still comtemplating the solution. It works but not perfect. The M8 may be the cure. As time goes on so does the collection.

Just got sleds this year to facilitate more backcountry snowboarding also. Haven't been on my board much. Fully enjoying the sled.
Been hitting Mt Adams area mostly. Checked out St Helens today. Looks like lots of potential, but the trail & snow conditions are rough & crusty. The snow covered 'bridge' is sketchy. Groomer passed me on the way home so it'll be better come the next storm.

I live in Portland, but if there are folks close by who want to hook up & shred let me know. I'm up for it.

Been Sled Boarding for the past 2 seasons and found a bunch of good spots , Hit me up and lets hit the hill,

Also have access to some misty spots behind the magic gate groomed roads to the top ...

Lets Ride
