Looking for new helmet new some reviews!!!

seems over priced for the weight....almost 1000 grams heavier than similar priced helmets from www.hmkusa.com and www.motorfist.com.

Of course my personal favorite is the new 509 Carbon helmet at 1240 grams...but is a hundred dollars more than the price point you were looking at.

so many choices out there now..good luck!

Yes the cheapest i found that FXR i like is 249.00. That is just one of the sites i linked to. Yes there is lots out there!!!

Pretty tough to beat how light the motorfist helmet is for the price, just picked one up and yeah it's light.

I also just bought the new Motorfist helmet. The xxl with the bigger cheek pads fits me perfect, I have an unusually huge melon. Really a nice, well made helmet with all the certifications. I have never used a breath box but some people like them and one comes with the helmet. I also like that you can take the liner out and wash it. Helmets can get really funky, nice to be able to easily clean it. There is also a pretty decent camera mount that comes with it too. Killer value at $250. The only thing I don't like is the graphics. Don't want to spend the money on painting it so some stickers will have to do.

:face-icon-small-hap Just bought the carbon fiber 509 and what a great helmet, sure is lite weight. For me, fit comes into play more so then does the price and I tried them all and this one fit me personally, the best.

Lot of great helmets out there! I use Fox. Nice and light, great fit, comfortable. Personally, I will continue to use Fox... It..saved my life last season - Good enough for me! lol.

I'm goin x2 on shoei. Super comfortable, good weight, best lid I've ever had. Also tried on the bell helmets, they were very comfortable as well but ultimately decided on shoei.

MotoFist is my pick as well, I have a 509 and a couple others, the most comfortable and light is my new Motofist for my block head.

It's almost hard to go wrong with a helmet now days...lot's of great choices out there. Ultimately, it comes down to what kind of riding you do and what conditions your riding in. In my opinion the 509 set up (helmet and goggles) do the best of covering all bases. It's the only 1, 2, combo that's designed for snowmobilers by snowmobilers. The goggles especially the sinister have a great seal with the helmet so there is no skin exposure which prevents frost bite, wind burn, etc. The goggles run a dual lens system, have plenty of venting, 3 piece foam system, 3 beads of silicon on the strap and a detachable nose piece. Swapping lenses is also pretty simple which is an added bonus. As far as the helmet goes the Carbon Fiber's weight speaks for itself. But if it's out of your price range the poly carb helmets have an average weight of 3.4 pds with all the same features of the Carbon Fiber. Both helmets have removable/washable liners along with venting, flex visors and a breathe box. 509's customer service and warranty have been second to none in my experience which makes me feel better when spending the kind of cake on my noggin.

Side note- I do work for a distributor and sell Klim, Motorfist, FXR and Fly helmets as well. All are great helmets and they all have features that set them aside from the other. However, in my personal experience I have had the best luck with my 509 set up over the years. The final decision comes down to personal preference and what meets your riding needs the best...like I said earlier, it's hard to go wrong with a helmet today.

Hope that helps,

JW

I have used a fox v3 carbon the past few season and like the weight and fit of it just had to much face exposure to the weather, this year I was leaning on going with a 509 helmet but come to find out they are not snell approved only dot, while I was in the shop they had a new shipment of fly helmets and man did I fall in love I jumped all over there hmk f2 carbon it is amazing fly really stepped it up for there snow customers. There is no skin exposed with there breath box with the 509 aviators its a solid fit and also with the sinister line. If you are looking for a great fitting helmet look at fly ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352000767.396507.jpg
